PROCESS FOR THE SELECTION OF LIFE MEMBERSHIP

Nominating a club member for life membership

1.    Nominations must be made on the “Life Membership Form”. Nominations must include the name of the nominator and a seconder who must be current financial members.

2.    The form should contain a summary of the nominee’s achievements under the three headings Participation, Performance and Administrative Contribution.

3.    Persons nominating a fellow member for life membership do not have to be a member of the current management committee.

4.    The nomination must be presented at a club committee meeting where the nominator and seconder would be asked to present their case.

5.    The committee must agree that the proposal has merit and meets the required guidelines for it (the nomination) to progress.

6.    The President/Vice President/Secretary will consult with existing life members to guarantee the suitability and appropriateness of the proposed nomination.

7.    Following acceptance by the nominated person, the proposal would be considered by the committee (excluding the nominee should that person be a current committee member) who must unanimously accept the nomination.

8.    The committee may consult with existing life members to guarantee the suitability and appropriateness of the proposed nomination.

Acceptance of the nomination must finally be gained from the nominated member.
