Why Train Alone?

You could be running or walking with a friendly social group – the Christchurch Marathon Clinic. Don’t be put off by our name – some of us run marathons (and longer distances) but many of us are happy doing much shorter runs.  Some of us come along just for the company and to maintain a basic level of fitness.

Training runs

Our regular training runs are typically 10 km to 16 km in length but there are nearly always ‘short cut’ options for anyone who prefers to run a shorter distance.  If you’re a recreational walker, you’re also welcome to join a small group that meets on Saturday mornings.


Our runs leave the club rooms at Barrington Park, (enter from Garnett Ave) on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6 pm and Saturdays at 8 am.  For the more serious runner, we also meet elsewhere on Sundays at 8 am.  About once every two months, we organise a Saturday morning run away from the clubrooms.  For more details, have a look at the ‘About Us’ page.
